Army Says All Soldiers Should Deploy

headed homePaul has been deployed 5 times over his 14 year military career (I was only around for one deployment – the rest were before me) and there are lots of guys he works with that have never been overseas.
While I wouldn’t wish deployment on anyone…. I do think it’s fair to have everyone share the burden.

In a move aimed at spreading the deployment burden, the Army has instituted a new set of policies that will make it more difficult for soldiers in non-deployable jobs to remain out of the combat zone.

is of the opinion that re-deployment is harder than deployment itself. The year Paul and I spent apart was tough, but nothing could have prepared me for trying to come back together again. Homecoming was full of challenges I never expected - no matter how many books I read!
