{"id":298,"date":"2010-01-12T19:17:47","date_gmt":"2010-01-13T01:17:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.myheroesathome.com\/blog\/?p=298"},"modified":"2010-01-12T19:19:06","modified_gmt":"2010-01-13T01:19:06","slug":"coming-to-terms-with-the-next-deployment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myheroesathome.com\/blog\/2010\/01\/coming-to-terms-with-the-next-deployment\/","title":{"rendered":"Coming to Terms with the Next Deployment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span> <\/span><!--[if gte mso 9]&amp;gt;  Normal 0       MicrosoftInternetExplorer4  &amp;lt;![endif]--> <span>The good news is we made it through the holidays without having to dodge too many questions about my husband&#8217;s next deployment. <\/span>A few family members and friends asked, but we just told them that we aren\u2019t talking about it right now.<span> <\/span>We are focusing on just enjoying the holidays with Mike home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I knew I eventually was going to have to come to terms with Mike\u2019s next deployment.<span> <\/span>With the holidays behind us and finally getting back to normal from Mike\u2019s last deployment (he got home late Dec.), I felt I could face the timeline.<span> <\/span>It wasn\u2019t a complete surprise because I knew he was going to Afghanistan, but I had a feeling the deployment was pushed up and I was right.<span> <\/span>We have about 6+ months on the clock until the next deployment and I already feel the time is ticking.<span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I want to ensure the time we spend over the next 6 months is well spent.<span> <\/span>At dinner tonight we already planned a few trips where we can spend quality time together.<span> <\/span>Some are new places we haven\u2019t been together and another has somewhat of a history.<span> <\/span>I\u2019m so excited to have the time to make new memories to help me get through the work up and the next deployment.<span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I cannot believe this will be number six.<span> <\/span>That is a lot of time worrying about him leaving, a lot of time apart, a lot of time worrying about him in a war zone and a lot of time reuniting.<span> <\/span>The only thing getting me through number six is knowing we should have a break from deployments for a few years when Mike goes on his B-billet. <span> <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The good news is we made it through the holidays without having to dodge too many questions about my husband&#8217;s next deployment.
