{"id":268,"date":"2009-10-18T19:21:58","date_gmt":"2009-10-19T01:21:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.myheroesathome.com\/blog\/?p=268"},"modified":"2009-10-18T19:21:58","modified_gmt":"2009-10-19T01:21:58","slug":"the-first-milestone-week-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myheroesathome.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/the-first-milestone-week-one\/","title":{"rendered":"The First Milestone:  Week One"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When my husband deploys I set little milestones for myself.<span> <\/span>First, it is getting through day one.<span> <\/span>It is always a day of mixed emotions and that forever lump in my throat that will not go away until I break down and cry.<span> <\/span>I do my best not to cry when he leaves because I know it doesn\u2019t help him to see me like that.<span> <\/span>So I hold back as much as I can. I\u2019m too strong willed to just break down\u2026 it usually takes a sappy show or movie (this time Gray\u2019s Anatomy).<span> <\/span>I shed the tears, looked in the mirror and told myself I know I will be fine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Since my husband left on a Sunday, I was so happy that by Monday morning I would be immersed in work.<span> <\/span>The weekdays usually go quickly for me working full time and fulfilling my duties as the March of Dimes board chair.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">By Friday afternoon, I was excited about the weekend; however, very sad that he wasn\u2019t going to be here.<span> <\/span>I felt a little empty heading home from work.<span> <\/span>Luckily I had a full weekend planned and it flew by.<span> <\/span>I finally made it to my first milestone of the deployment:<span> <\/span>week one is over!<span> <\/span>For me, it is all about taking deployment one day at time, one problem at a time and one milestone at a time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When my husband deploys I set little milestones for myself.
